Hofgarðartjörn

In Hofgarðartjörn you may find a high number of rare plants and species, for example Persiaria Amphibia that grows nowhere else on Iceland but here.

The birdlife here is variated because of the different types of environments that consists of beautiful moorlands, sedges and seashores. You may find up to 40 different species of bird out here, like the Slavonian Grebe.
